2011-12 Ambassadorial Scholarship Information and Forms are out for you to distribute* to your club membership and communities.  The scholarship will amount to $26,000 next year. Don't you want someone from your community taking advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity?

I am challenging each club in our district to sponsor one applicant. They may study in an institution in our district or be a permanent resident and study somewhere else. Remember - they can not be a direct descendent of a Rotarian. Although there is no age limit, they must have completed their sophmore year of college.

I am setting May 31 as our district deadline. If you have more than one applicant from your area, you may want to set an earlier deadline and conduct your own interview process. Please encourage those not selected to seek sponsorship from another club in the district.

Since November is Foundation Month, I asked our present outbound scholar Aminta Ossum to send us a short picture Powerpoint Presentation describing what she's been doing since her arrival in London in late September. (It's impressive!) Since the file is too big to send via email you can access it at the following site: I hope you will download it and share with your club members so they will feel like they know her when she comes to speak to your club upon her return.

I have a flier of info that can be printed to post in churches, colleges or distributed to members via email. It contains the website to download more info as well as the application. Please help us get the word out so we can take advantage of this wonderful program that we have available from our district designated funds!
