Last Week's Program

This week’s speaker, Foster Tischler, was practically born into Rotary, her mother, Mary Beth Dobbs-Tischler, has been an active Rotarian for over 13 years. Foster is currently a senior at Altus High School, excelling academically and harboring ambitious goals.

After graduation, Foster plans to earn a Juris Doctorate and work as a general practice attorney. Her dreams don’t stop there—she aims to be elected to political office and hopes to become the first U.S. President from Oklahoma, following in the footsteps of John F. Kennedy as the youngest president ever elected. If you know Foster, you know she’s on track to make these dreams a reality.

This past summer, Foster attended Stanford University’s Intensive Law Program, spending ten days living on campus and gaining hands-on experience in the legal field. Students in the program practiced roles like prosecution and defense in a mock trial, where Foster even served as a witness. Although she enjoyed her time at Stanford, Foster plans to study law closer to home at the University of Oklahoma, as she is eager to continue her path toward a bright future in law and politics.

Rotarian of the Day
Colleen Pavelschak brings dedication and warmth to our Rotary club. Married to fellow Rotarian Jason Pavelschak, they have four wonderful children, each of whom calls Colleen every day, a testament to her close family bonds.

As a military spouse for 25 years, Colleen truly understands the meaning of "Service Above Self."
She actively volunteers in the community, lending her time and talents wherever needed, and has served on multiple organizational boards. Since joining Rotary in 2022, Colleen has taken on the role of Director of Social Media, helping to amplify our club’s voice and engage members.

Together with Jason, Colleen organizes Rotary’s annual Ringing of the Bells for the Salvation Army during the holiday season, spreading cheer and support. She also contributes to our scholarship committee, ensuring opportunities for deserving students. Colleen’s passion and commitment have greatly enriched our club, and we are grateful for her invaluable service.

**I am adding a link for the Pride of Oklahoma because I know it has a special place in Colleen's heart.
