3/27 Club Service Project
On Thursday, March 27th, we will have a club-wide service project. We will meet in the parking lot of the swim beach at the Altus Reservoir and walk the large lake to collect trash. All supplies, including water, will be provided. Please bring your whole family and enjoy an evening walk while doing something good for our community. If you are unable to walk the distance, bring a lawn chair and do some supervising from the beach area! There will be a sign up sheet passed around for those interested in joining. If you are not able to make the lunch meeting, please text or email me if you'll join us at the reservoir.

Last Week's Program
At our last meeting, we were introduced to Christy Lovelace, the Membership Sales Manager for AirMedCare Network. Christy shared some valuable information about AirEvac and the benefits of membership.
AirEvac operates a fleet of 320 helicopters and provides services across 38 states. Its membership program is designed to offer air ambulance services to individuals and families, particularly in rural or remote areas where immediate medical assistance may be difficult to access. Memberships are available on a 1-, 3-, 5-, or 10-years basis and cover all members of the household, regardless of their relationship to one another.
The helicopter transports the patient, the pilot, a critical care nurse, and a paramedic. Some helicopters are equipped with a third seat to allow a family member or a correctional officer (when transporting a prisoner) to accompany the team. The on-board team can manage emergencies, including those involving infants. Most flights from Altus are hospital transfers to Lawton, Oklahoma City, and even Dallas.
There are currently two air ambulance services in town: Survival Flight and AirEvac. With over 400 flights per year in this area, Christy recommends becoming a member of both companies. She informs us that the cost can be up to $60,000. Even those with health insurance may still incur thousands of dollars in expenses. As a member of either AirEvac or Survival Flight, there is no cost for the flight. Christy mentioned that if you do not specify what company you prefer to use, the hospital or first responders will contact the first and closest available service.
AirEvac offers a senior membership plan at a discounted rate. They provide business plans for your employees.
Christy stated that if the temperature exceeds 40 degrees, the helicopter will remain outside the hangar at the airport. She encourages everyone to stop by, ask questions, and look inside.
