Service Opportunities
Friday, November 7th 4:00pm The Air Force Sergeant's Association Chapter 988 has partnered with our local VFW to place flags on Veteran's graves at the Altus Cemetery. They are welcoming any volunteers that can assist. It's a big job and a chance to honor those who served. Just show up and look for the group.
Saturday, November 8th is Rotary's Day of Service. The Rotaract club has a project planned to make pull-toys for the dogs at the Altus animal shelter. We are asking for green and/or gold (yellow) t-shirts to use for the project. We are needing as many shirts as we can get. If you have any old t-shirts you would like to donate, please call or text Debbie Valerio (580)301-3991 by Friday. I will come and pick them up from you. We will also donate any old towels that you may have.
Our club is growing. Looking forward to sharing information about our new members in an upcoming newsletter. If you know someone who embodies the Rotary spirit, be sure to invite them to a lunch.
We will be continuing our service to the Salvation Army Ringing of the Bells again this year. Please keep an eye out for the date and consider coming out and spreading some cheer as we collect donations for those in need.

Last Week's Program
Western Oklahoma State College, originally founded as Altus Junior College in 1926, is proud to mark its centennial anniversary in 2026. As the oldest original municipal two-year college still operating in Oklahoma, Western has a rich history of serving Southwest Oklahoma. It was renamed Western Oklahoma State College four years after becoming a state junior college in 1970.
The college’s 100-year celebration kicks off at Homecoming 2026 with exciting projects supported by the WOSC Foundation’s $100,000 Legacy Project fundraising goal. Planned improvements include a new campus sign at Main and Tamarack, upgraded gym bleachers, enhanced softball facilities, and modernized science labs.
Western invites alumni and community members to support this milestone by joining as President Partners, Sustaining Members, or new Alumni members on the commemorative trees in the front hall. Any donation helps continue the college’s legacy of excellence. Learn more and contribute at wosc.edu/give.
